One chandelier or two?

If you have noticed that many shelter magazines are showing not one, but two,

chandeliers over a dining-room table, you are picking up on something.

And, that something is a trend.

Not just a trend, but a trendy-trend.

For a classic, timeless, look, stick with a single chandelier over your dining room table.

Save the pair for a long hall .

Trust me on this one.

This is a trend, it will not last, and in five years it  will announce:

“I decorated my dining room in 2013.”

Save the two chandelier/two lantern look for something like the above.

That is a timeless look that never goes out of style.

  1. You are right. Right. Right.

However. A pair of petite old Italian chandeliers hang over my harvest table in the kitchen. Found them junking with my father. 1 came home on the plane, the other had to survive hurricane Ike. Then my father died.

This pair will never cease to delight.

    Exceptions.

Hope you had a great Easter.

  2. “Trendy-trend.” That’s funny. And did you know you made a kind-of pun when you wrote, “Save it for the long hall (as in haul)? Good post, even for one who is a big fan of pairs. Thanks. . .

    • Thank you for the comment, Barbara. I am bad about puns, I love wordplay, and yes, I did catch that in the re-read! I appreciate your reading my blog. Best, Ellen
